About Us
The Ilangai Tamil Sangam of Newfoundland and Labrador is a vibrant community organization representing Tamils from the island of Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon) who have made Canada their home. Our members, now residing in Newfoundland and Labrador, come together to celebrate our rich cultural heritage, promote Tamil language and traditions, and foster unity and support within our community.
Through cultural events, educational initiatives, and social gatherings, we aim to preserve our identity while contributing to the multicultural fabric of our province.

Our Purpose
The Ilangai Tamil Sangam of Newfoundland and Labrador is dedicated to supporting Sri Lankan Tamils residing in Newfoundland and Labrador and advocating for their interests both in Canada and internationally. Our key objectives include:
- Creating Community Connections
Providing a welcoming space for Tamils and Tamil-speaking individuals from Sri Lanka to meet, connect, and foster a sense of belonging in Newfoundland and Labrador. - Preserving and Promoting Tamil Heritage
Encouraging the study and appreciation of Tamil culture, language, and music to preserve and celebrate our rich traditions for future generations.
